President & CEO, Founder
As the President and Chief Executive Officer, he is responsible for the development and implementation of the company’s long-term strategy and effective vision of industry needs. David brings more than 30 years of healthcare consulting and operations experience. As the founder of C2HEALTHCARE(formerly Capitol Consulting, LLC) and the creator of the OPTIX Reporting System, David stresses the importance of using a combination of coaching and business analytics to guide leaders to optimum performance and lasting improvement. His expertise is focused on leading large- scale operation improvements and financial turnarounds for health systems, academic medical centers and community hospitals.
In his work, David has facilitated over 200 healthcare organizations with various aspects of their improvement process including:
David’s experience covers the full spectrum of hospital operations including clinical, ancillary, financial, extending care, regional offices and physician practices.
Prior to founding C2 HEALTHCARE(CCLLC) in 1998, he served as Executive Director of Operations at Georgetown University Medical Center with the responsibility of reversing a $35 million deficit. Before that, David worked as a Senior Director with the consulting firm of West Hudson Inc., a division of Cardinal Health.
David lives in the northern suburbs of Chicago with his wife and three children.
Vice President
Chris joined C2 HEALTHCARE in 2007 and has since led and supported the financial turnarounds with OPTIX in close to one hundred hospitals ranging from large tertiary care to small critical access. As Vice President, he works with both front line managers and directors as well as hospital executives to identify opportunities for improvement, to guide teams to realize those improvements, and to lock in gains through the budgeting process so a culture of continuous improvement is sustained after the initial client engagement has ended.
Prior to joining C2, Chris worked for a Fortune 500 healthcare management services firm and spent seven years managing support service operations in three hospitals ranging from 90 to 350 beds. During this time, he established several organizational development and scheduling initiatives that enhanced operational efficiency and led to significant cost reduction.
Chris received an M.A. in Organizational Psychology with a concentration in Change & Consultation from the Teachers College, Columbia University and an M.B.A from Loyola University of Chicago. His MBA thesis on cost reduction and quality enhancement in end of life care was published in the Journal of Gerontological Social Workin 2008.
He lives in the northern suburbs of Chicago with his wife and three children.
Vice President
As the Vice President, she is responsible for working with Chief Nursing Officers, their directors, and front-line nursing mangers to optimize labor management in order to achieve enhanced profitability through coaching, our proprietary OPTIX analytics and tools, and the provision of performance feedback in real time. With over 27 years of experience as a nurse herself, Betsie can relate well and help our clients see possibilities versus roadblocks or order to achieve clinical operating efficiencies and savings.
Prior to C2 HEALTHCARE, Betsie has worked in a variety of clinical environments ranging from Medical Surgical, Neonatal Intensive Care, and Long-Term Care. With 20 years of experience in Long Term Care, she has helped develop innovative, leading edge care models that became of interest nationally and internationally. She has spoken at over 40 national aging and industry conferences. She has been interviewed and quoted in various publications including The New York Times, AARP Bulletin, and the Chicago Tribune.
She is a published author with articles in Computers, Informatics, and Nursing, Marketing Health Services, Nursing Homes/Long Term Care Management, Generations, and Seniors Housing and Care Journal. She has also provided content on a regular basis to HuffPost 50.
Honors include Heroes in Healthcare Award from the Best Practice Network and The President’s Award at Mather LifeWays in Evanston, Illinois. She completed the LeadingAge Leadership Academy program in 2009 as well as the Intrinsic Coach® Development Series – Organizational Effectiveness through Totally Coached, Inc. in 2010.
Betsie earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Michigan State University and her Master of Science in Nursing in Health Systems Management from Loyola University Chicago.
Betsie lives in the northern suburbs of Chicago with her husband and two children.
